It's so hard to believe Gryffin and Olivia are nearly one! Just a few short weeks and I will have officially survived a year with twin babies plus a four-year-old. I have to be honest though, it has been easier than I expected but not easy by any means. They each have their own unique personality that somehow mesh together perfectly. I hope it stays that way for a while though, before the sibling battles begin.
Her other new favorite thing to do is point at everything and everyone. If your from Pittsburgh, you'll know who the attorney Edgar Snyder is. You know the guy in the commercials that says "There's never a fee unless we get money for you!" and then fiercely points into the camera. Her pointing and face is strangely reminicient of him. It makes us laugh, especially when she points and tells her brothers No! She is quite the bossy boots.
Gryffin has finally found his taste for solid foods. Although he prefers to eat paper or whatever else he finds on the ground, he is definitely a meat eater. Nadia and Hunter had soft tacos outside at the picnic table and Gryffin crawled under the table and found part of a taco in the dirt. He proceeded to shove the whole thing in his mouth and then continued to eat the dirt as well.
Don't worry, we don't use chemicals or pesticides on our lawn. I figure I'm not going to be able to prevent both babies from eating things off of the ground, so there's no reason to freak out about it. I also use the rationale that they don't get exposed to other babies at a daycare so it helps to build their immunity as well.
I'm not really sure where the Mardi Gras beads came from, I think they are Nadia's, but Gryffin thought he was pretty cool wearing them and eating ground tacos!
Hunter is lost without his school buddies. He misses his teachers and friends and has become quite bored with summer. We don't get to the pool too often because frankly it's just too much work with the twins. Hunter doesn't swim yet, so I really still need to watch him closely. I just can't fully trust the teenage lifeguards with my son't life yet. Some of them even listen to their ipods while guarding the pool! Hunter has a great time hanging out with his cousins, so we try to visit as much as possible. Hunter and Nate are two very different little boys but are still great friends.
We had some really great swinging fun in the back yard the other day. The temperatures have been really high and the humidity just kills me but the trees in the yard provide enough shade to really make it tolerable, at least for a little while.
Gryffin is a platinum member of the diapers only club.
My little Olive is my main thrill seeker who would swing all day everyday if she could. She spent a majority of her time as an infant in a cradle swing.

I think Spencer, being that she's older than Griffen (sp!), is the president of the diapers only club! Seriously, we walk in the house from where ever we are, and she's literally peeling off the layers of clothing. Yesterday, after church, she was walking up the walkway, with the dress already half way off! We don't care...except when she tries to undress in public...where no one else is undressed! You know, like the grocery store!!
I can't believe how big the twins are! They are absolutely beautiful and look just like the Lowens!!!! Olivia has so much hair, Spencer still looks bald half of the time!
Emily (Hottenstein) Reilly will be down here next week! We'll get a picture and I'll post it!
